1. Policy Statement

At NuColour Ltd, we are committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, subcontractors, and visitors to our workplaces. We believe that a safe and healthy workforce is essential for productivity, morale, and long-term business success.

Providing clean, safe, and well-maintained welfare facilities on all job sites and premises.
Ensuring employees have access to rest areas, sanitary provisions, and drinking water.

2. Legal Compliance & Standards

This policy is developed in line with UK Health & Safety Regulations and industry best practices, including:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • The Workplace (Health, Safety, and Welfare) Regulations 1992
  • The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015)
  • The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002

3. Welfare Facilities & Provisions

NuColour Ltd ensures that welfare facilities are properly maintained, regularly cleaned, and fully accessible on all work sites and offices. Our key provisions include:

3.1. Sanitary & Washing Facilities

Adequate toilets, washbasins, and handwashing facilities with hot and cold water, soap, and drying facilities.
Separate facilities for male and female workers where required.
Regular cleaning and maintenance of all sanitary areas.

3.2. Drinking Water

Clean and easily accessible drinking water provided at all work locations.
Clearly marked water stations with hygienic dispensing methods.

3.3. Rest & Break Areas

Indoor rest areas with seating and heating where workers can take breaks.
Facilities for making hot drinks and eating food.
Suitable space for pregnant workers and those needing private rest areas.

3.4. Changing, Drying & Storage Facilities

Secure lockers or storage areas for personal belongings.
Changing areas with privacy provisions where necessary.
Drying facilities for wet clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE).

4. Mental Health & Wellbeing

  • Support employees with well-being initiatives and access to external assistance if required.

5.2. Employee Responsibilities

Employees are expected to:

  • Use welfare facilities responsibly and respectfully.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding welfare provisions to management.
  • Follow workplace policies regarding health, safety, and hygiene.
  • Respect colleagues’ well-being and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

6. Monitoring & Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessary to reflect changes in legislation or business operations. NuColour Ltd encourages feedback from employees to improve welfare facilities and workplace well-being.
